The American Legion is known for solving the most complex issues facing veterans. Today that issue is veteran suicide.
“When They Came Home” is a new PSA from The American Legion featuring racing legend Jimmie Johnson. The spot talks about how, over their 100-year history, The American Legion has turned care and concern into action. Now, a new challenge is looming, and The American Legion is ready to tackle the veteran suicide issue head on.

The American Legion represents veterans from every conflict from WW2 through OIF/OEF. While we cherish and honor the sacrifices and contributions of all generations of veterans, The American Legion, among other Veteran Organizations, are going to die out and disappear if our OIF/OEF era veterans do not step up to the plate and become active members of these organizations. The American Legion Post 9 in Brunswick, Ga needs your help. Join and help us bring the American Legion into the 21st century with your ideas, thoughts, and passions; we need them.

A war rages inside the heads of many veterans that return home from their time in service. This war is known by many names... PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Mental Health Disorders. There is a negative stigma surrounding a veteran getting help for these mental health disorders and many more. Be The One is the American Legion's way of confronting this. We aim to destigmatize receiving mental health treatment, and by doing so reducing the veteran suicide Rate. Our Sr. Vice Commander is a QPR certified suicide prevention instructor. We would love to come to your business, or gathering and give a training in suicide prevention.
